MOM IS GREAT!!

HY MY NAME IS JENNY AND I AM 30 YEARS OLD, MY MOTHER RECENTLY HAD AN LVAD IMPLANT TO BE EXACT ON 4/9/13 AFTER YEARS OF SUFFERING WITH HEART FAILURE. ITS BEEN ALMOST A MONTH AND SHE IS DOING GREAT. WE HAVE GONE SHOPPING AND GO FOR LONG WALKS IN THE EVENING. I WAS SO AFRAID WHEN I WAS TOLD SHE HAD TO HAVE AN LVAD IMPLANTED, NOW IM JUST SO GRATEFUL AFTER SO MANY YEARS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO ENJOY MY MOTHER I AM FINALLY ABLE TO ENJOY SO MANY THINGS WITH HER. THE NYU LVAD PROGRAM IS AMAZING. I WAS TRAINED PROPERLY TO BECOME MOM'S CAREGIVER. I WAS ALREADY TAKING CARE OF MOM WITH MEDICATIONS AND BREATHING TREATMENTS ALL THE TIME, BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT SHE PUTS ON HER BATTERIES AND OUT WE GO TO ENJOY LIFE!! THANKING GOD FOR OUR MIRACLE

Wow! Congratulations to you both and thank you for sharing the positive. It's stories like yours that inspire all those out there that are afraid of the unknown. What a tremendous difference it has made for your mom's health and your ability to enjoy focusing more on life and less on sickness. I will be saying a special prayer for you both on Mother's Day.

My name is Carol. I received my LVAD on 04/16/13. I am a destination LVAD. I am very pleased with my LVAD, too. I have so much more energy and ability to do all sorts of things. I was wondering what your mother has done to adapt her clothing for daily wear.
