may have to have left heart pump

If you had to do it over, would you? are their any other options out there?, Im Patty, had a pacemaker since 1998 and then heart attack and 3 stints later in 2000 at age 42, I have since had a icd implanted with my pacemaker, I have had an enjection infratiom number between 30 and 40% for the last 8 years, until this year I was tested and my number is down to 20%, my doctors increased my medications and will be having another ultersound done in December, they are talking about a left ventricular pump or transplant, It sounds so scary to me, are there other options out there>? I can't wrap my head around being plugged in for my life. need some help, and experience's ,from people who have had this done.

Yes, I would have it done in a heart beat. Feel much better with it and back to doing everything I always did before. My icd and pacemaker did not work correctly, so they did the LVAD. My numbers were down to about 10 ). They put me in ICU and did surgery a few days later. Piece of cake. Talking with them now about a transplant, which I will have done. As far as being plugged in, you only do that at night when your sleeping. Get a Heart Ware version of the pump. Much smaller and easy to carry around. Looks like you are just carrying a purse with a shoulder strap. I would recommend any one to have it done. Wish you well and will send prayers you way. They always help. My name is Mary.

So had another ultersound done, there was no change from one in June, they had increased med's but it did not work, Now i am going in for a heart cath, to make sure their are no blockages that they could'nt see on my stress test, after that they will be scheduling me for to attend heart failure clinic, at St. Vincent to see what option's there are for me, I just don''t know how long it will take before they make a decision on what is going to take place, tired of waiting, how long does it take to get your lavd after they have looked at everything
