The Core Curriculum Committee was established to create essential mechanical circulatory support (MCS) core content. The MCS field is growing rapidly, necessitating the expansion of coordinators with unique knowledge of VAD patients and programs. Regulatory requirements dictate that coordinators be trained, yet the content of that training has never been defined. The Core Curriculum Committee was established to develop essential content for MCS coordinator education. Core Curriculum is available for ICCAC members only.
CORE CURRICULUM MISSION
The mission of the Core Curriculum Committee is to develop core curriculum and content to serve as a study tool and training resource for VAD/MCS coordinators. Core Curriculum is VAD Coordinator driven and consistent with other specialties/organizations such as AAHFN and NATCO.
