LVAD to Xplant Listing changes

Evening all, UNOS the organ transplant coordinators are changing how Xplants are to be listed. I realize that the majority of us are probably DT and not BT. But following the massive bacterial infections I have for the past year I was listed as a 1b waiting to transfer to 1a That was supposed to happen latter this month. And now all bets are off. I saw these proposed changes a few months back and talked to my cardio team about them. While there may be some effects on patients, the thought process is there will be more hearts available in a given geographical region. I was a 1b patient and received a transplant after waiting 39 months on an LVAD. Keep in mind the cardio teams still have some say in the final decision about transplant even with the new guidelines.
