Please Help!
Mon, 10/08/2012 - 10:32AMMy brother just had LVAD surgery on Friday, Oct. 5th and he is still not awake yet. The surgery lasted 9 hours, which was due to complications. We are all beside ourselves wondering what this could be. So far, the test show that he did NOT have a stroke so we don't know what to think.
Has anyone else had a long wake up time after surgery?

Wed, 10/10/2012 - 11:15AMHow is your brother doing? Didn't the staff tell you that he would be kept under deep sedation for a couple of days? Where I had mine implanted, you were kept out for two full days after surgery. My surgery was 8 1/2 hours, so I don't think 9 is anything to be too overly concerned about.
