Dad having surgery tomorrow..questions...

Hello,

My father is having a lvad put in tomorrow and we are all very nervous about the surgery. The doctors have explained everything to us but they won't tell us how risky it is and what the success rate for the actual surgery is. If anyone can let me know, you will do a lot to relieve my mind! Thanks.

Im sorry nobody responded to your post. I am surprised the doctors wouldn't give you some statistics. I know the risks vary on how sick the patient is, prior surgeries and the experience of the surgeon. They should have given you some idea how successful they expected his surgery to be.
