MY 15min Physical with the famous Dr. Oz
Wed, 09/05/2012 - 1:25PMHi everyone- just wanted to share my exciting news of meeting Dr. Oz today for the 15min physical. I was even seen by him! He asked who implanted my LVAD and I told him Dr. Steven Boyce at the Washington Hospital Center, he says I know Dr. Boyce, that's my good friend and he's excellent (of course I already know that hehe. At any rate after giving him my history and telling him about my antibodies count being high- he also recommended that I have the pheresis done (so Bridgette and Jessica maybe getting a call soon!)
Dr. Oz said that my numbers (glucose,cholesterol,blood pressure) looked good and he said my HeartWare device was purring like a kitten =)He (Dr. Oz) said that he's also implanted many LVAD's! Well just wanted to share my excitement...hopefully he'll make a stop to one of your cities!

Fri, 09/07/2012 - 4:45PMWow! Dr Oz, how did you get to see him? You should definitely try the plasmapheresis. We all know that Dr Boyce is not only a great surgeon but a very compassionate person. Of course, he is passionate about his work but most importantly he cares about patients and loved ones.

Mon, 09/10/2012 - 1:19PMFOX 5 in DC along with Howard University Hospital partnered and held the 15min Physical event. You had to click a link on the FOX 5 homepage, once there it took you to a form where you answer some health questions then it said you'll be contacted if you were chosen. I actually had forgotten about it because I didn't think I would be chosen...2 days later I received a confirmation email with my appointment time. He was actually in town again today featured on the FOX 5 morning news.
