Does anybody experienced low appetite?

Hi. My brother (24 years old) has had LVAD for about a month.

He doesn't feel like eating and/or feel sick when tries to eat something.

Does anyone had the same situation?

If so, it would be appreciated how you managed the situation.

He's had his digestive organs and etc. checked, and found no problem.

Thank you for your help. Happy Thanksgiving!!

I've had my LVAD for a little over 2 years. I also lost my appetite at

first and received some medicine to help but it didn't. I still have to force

myself to eat. I try to eat small meals and pick all day. Eat enough to keep

up the strength and hopefully hunger will return enough to start eating again

Hi, i was implanted 2 months ago and my appetite has just finally picked up ... although i don't eat near what i use to eat. My plate is perhaps 1/2 full and lucky to eat it all. I did loose my appetite badly in beginning, but it did come back but not nearly what it use to be. I have lost 32 pounds in 2 months. Just eat small meals throughout the day. Even if its a few bites, get something in your stomach. Hope this helps. Also, i drank those protein shakes ... that helped alot. I used those to take my meds ... Special K offers them and they are my favorite.
