Equipment donation

My mom had an lvad and she passed away. I have a bunch of equipment I would rather donate than just getting rid of. I would love to hear any ideas. I can send pictures if needed. Email me. Klwatk2@gmail.com

Kristi, I received some equipment under similar circumstances. I traveled from Illinois to New Jersey to get the equipment. I am so thankful to the donors that it is hard to fathom. They made my life so much easier and Mayo’s checked the gear out and gave it the thumbs up.  Bless you for thinking of others. Terry

I’m so sorry to hear that your mum has passed away after having an lvad

my husband is still waiting for a transplant and also has an lvad and he’s had that for 3 and a half years now and is stable health wise

Sorry to ask this but did she pass away due to complications with the lvad I’m always on edge with my husbands condition as he has end stage heart failure and the lvad is a bridge to transplant

She had a stroke during a heart surgery and passed 2 years later due to those complications. She had her lvad for 2 years before that and loved it. She had difficulties but overall it made a positive impact on her mental and physical health.

My husband is not a candidate for a heart transplant .  He is destination .   I would be interested if you still have some equipment.   Let me know what you have.

God Bless, and you are so gracious,

Susan

I have several batteries, chargers and accessory bags. Her equipment is several years old so I’m not exactly sure what will or won’t work but I’m happy to try and make it work. Where are you located?

I am writing because, sadly, my father in law has come home and is in hospice care, and we expect that he will be passing in the next few days.  His LVAD was a gift in many ways, and was able to give him six more years of life.  Now that he is passing, our family feels it is a shame to just throw away his LVAD equipment, if there is any organization or individual who can make use of any or all of it. If anyone has any information, or individual need, I hope you will reply to this post.

Thanks very much,  - Trish

After 2-1/2 years of having his LVAD, my husband passed on October 17th. I have his LVAD (Heartmate II) batteries (8 of them) the charger base, his wall plug, a vest and various other items which I would like to find a good home. All the equipment is in good condition. Please reply to this post If interested. You would only need to pay for shipping. Thank you - Kathy

Very sorry for your loss. 😢

if you haven’t gotten a response from anyone as yet, I am very interested in your husbands equipment. I had my LVAD since October last year. I have to travel 6 hours to the hospital almost every month now for checkups and I stay with my youngest son who live near the hospital.
I was hoping to get a second set of equipment so I can leave it at his place and not have to transport mine back and forth. Have to go this week for another checkup.

I am more than than willing to pay for shipping costs to my sons place in Canada.

you can email me with any details at larryfurmanic@hotmail.com

Hi Kathy. He did not wear Lvad shirts. He bought fishing vests and put the batteries and controller in that. Some of them had a pocket in the back to help with the weight.  He also used football girdles.  He tried a lot of things because he found the batteries  too heavy.

My son used the LVAD until his death. It gave him back his life, unfortunately, he had two strokes, the last took his life. There's nothing wrong with his equipment. I'd love to donate it to someone who would benefit from it. There are a number of items.

Hello

My brother passed away just recently and I have his Heartmate 3 equipment. The hospital won’t take it back and I’d like to donate it. It’s the charging station, 8 batteries, several bags, some supplies.
Thank you.

Hi Kathleen

I have 4 lvad shirts, 3 white  and 1 black also some lvad white spandex bottoms not sure what you call them but they too hold the batteries. They look like football pants. The shirts don’t have a size; I looked everywhere. But my best guess is that they are large or medium. The bottoms are XL. You are welcome to all of them. Email me: franciscouvertier@gmail.com

My husband is on his 2nd LVAD, in October 21 his Heartware failed and he went into liver and kidney failure. He spent  over 3 months in the hospital then and another week in March. We would greatly appreciate a second charger to use for trips as the doctor's told us it would be good for him to get out occasionally. He is 51 and has lived with heart failure since he was 38. I am his caregiver and would be over appreciative as when we go somewhere I feel like I am packing the whole house. Thank you for hearing my story hope to hear from you.
