I have a patient whom I am sending home with a major infection. He currently is on IV antibiotics for suppression but it is only a matter of time before he becomes septic again. The local Hospice says as long as his LVAD is on they cannot be involved in his care and I do not have any in home palliative services. Does anyone have any experience in this area. I am trying to help this patient go home.
